Tribute and info
The Club would like to record their appreciation of all that Terry did for the Club, giving freely of his time, energy and support to young would-be artists of all media.
Several people have contacted Bob and Susan Wright to say how helpful he had been to their progress, some into professional careers.
We are very lucky that Terry had a house large enough to store large artifacts from Queen Victoria Road.
As some of you know, he gave us the famous statue for the golden jubilee and we had retained it with his blessing.
He always hoped one day we would once again have our own premises but in this day and age this is unviable.
We now have two plaster plaques from the hallway of QVR and the amazing coffee bar murals.
These last are in remarkably good condition, considering they were stored in the garage.
We are not able to house them indefinitely and will be speaking to The Herbert about restoration and possibly long term loan shortly.
Some of the figures were of members. If you know of any one illustrated do let us know. We have identified Bob Wright and Phil Adcock so far.
There will be a Memorial Event in the later half of September, when everyone is welcome to meet up, share memories and celebrate Terry as he was. date and venue still TBA, watch this space.
